HIGHLIGHTS

  • Nguom Ngao cave: one of the most impressive cave system in Vietnam with several kilometers underground.
  • Puong cave: created by the flow of The Nang river under limestone of Lung Nham mountain, Puong cave appeals tourists with unique stalactites and the bat community.
ITINERARY

At 08:00am, Cattours’ representative will pick you up at the lobby of your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter. We will head to the direction of Chinese border before stopping at Chi Lang Pass, which runs along the north-south axis and is formed by two mountain ranges: the Kai Kinh and the Bao Dai. The passage is where many victories against various Chinese invasions over the centuries and millennia. You will have a walk around the area then visit Quy Mon Quan Gate, which means “The Gate of Monsters”. This is the place where many invaders were killed by the Vietnamese defenders.

After lunch at a local restaurant, our next destination is Mother’s Temple and Dong Khe where the battle of Dong Khe took place during the first Indochina war.
Overnight at hotel in Cao Bang city.

Breakfast at hotel. We drive to Trung Khanh, which located on the border with China. You will have a chance to contact with local people living in Phuoc Sen village, which is known for traditional blacksmithing. Next is the time to relax and admire the stunning Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of Vietnam’s most impressive natural sights and the widest waterfall in Vietnam. The falls occur on the Quay Son River through a pastoral landscape of rice fields and bamboo groves surrounded by limestone pinnacles.

After that, we head to visit Nguom Ngao cave. Created by an underground river, and extend for several kilometers, Nguom Ngao is one of the most impressive cave system in Vietnam.

Get back to the car and drive to Ba Be lake, where you will spend a night there.
Overnight at homestay with local Tay family.

Enjoy a local breakfast at homestay, our journey today is relaxing and enjoying the views to the karst formations, the rich wildlife on a boat trip. You could spend time relaxing on the boat or jump into the cool water to refresh yourself.

Cruise along the Nang river then explore Puong cave, a large one with unique stalactites and the bat community. Our small boat go under the cave with ethereal lights. You will be fascinated by a mystery picture with color, the sound of water, and ten thousand of bat community.

You will then take a drive back to Hanoi.
